Employment Assistant, Associate,
or Full Professor. The new Department of Environmental and Biomolecular Systems (EBS) plans to add over the next five years more than 10 faculty in environmental and bio-sciences, emphasizing interdisciplinary efforts to understand the structure and function of Earth systems in the face of environmental change. Two cross-cutting efforts are planned: Environmental Health Systems - understanding genetic and physiological responses to environmental stresses within ecosystems, biological communities and individual organisms including humans; and Environmental Information Systems - developing and applying advanced sensing, simulation and information technologies to advance cross-scale, interdisciplinary environmental science and engineering. Appointments are anticipated in areas that include Microbiology, Biomolecular and Environmental Chemistry, and Modeling, Sensing, and Data Assimilation. EBS is the result of a faculty-driven merger of OGI's departments of Environmental Science and Engineering and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. A letter including detailed research plans, CV and the names of three references should be addressed to: Chair, EBS Search
